After a somewhat rocky experience a year ago on Azamara Quest out of Kyoto, we decided to give the line another try and signed up for the Singapore-Bangkok-Vietnam-Hong Kong cruise. Second time proved well worth while.
Prior to the cruise we spent a week in Siem Reap, Cambodia, exploring the area. Well worth the time. After overnighting in Singapore, we headed to Bangkok. On this trip the city was over-run with mainland Chinese tourists and Thai citizens mourning their recently passed-away King. Sites were beautiful, but overwhelmed with crowds. We hired private tours, which helped a bit, but still very crowded.
Next few stops were in Vietnam, which was cancelled last minute on last year's visit in order to have more time for the ship refitting. Vietnam was outstanding! Again, we hired a private guide, so we could cover more areas more quickly. Had a wonderful time in Ho Chi Minh City, and a great day visiting the Mekong Delta. Wonderful people, markets, food. And traffic much less and more organized than Bangkok.
Very nice cabin, nice balcony. Quite roomy for the two of us. Shower has a glass door.
Some individuals have complained about deck noise when furniture is moved on the pool deck area above the room. We hear a little noice a couple of times during the day on the trip, but this was not an issue for us. We would book the same cabin again, as it is conveniently located to Windows Cafe and early morning coffee.
Nice tour of Halong Bay.
We have spent quite of bit of time previously in Singapore, and did not on this trip. Botanical Gardens, orangutang feeding at the zoo, and dining at the many excellent restaurants are among our favorites.
