Sail Date: Jan 2017

We choose this cruise because we heard so much about the positive experiences our friends/family had with RC sailing. This is our first with RC as we had many others with competing cruise lines. We try to decide and elect a single cruise line where we can start building loyalty and accumulate points. This particular sailing had encountered rough sea where most of our companions on the trip were feeling sick (so was I along with many crews as well) and we spend a lot of time in the stateroom. It was so rough that we were not able to dock at one of the two port of call. According to several crew members, this is the roughest encounter they had for the pass 9 years on Empress of the Sea.

Although we were not able to fully enjoy all of the ports and activities, we still manage to have a very good time. The crews were wonderful and services was excellent. Our experience was greatly impacted by the weather and not under control of RC. We would certainly try another sailing, perhaps with the bigger and more modern ship in the fleet in order to render our final judgement.

Port Reviews

Miami

I didn't take excursion as I live in South Florida. Miami is a good place to visit.

Cozumel

I didn't take excursion as I had been there many many times before. Great party town.

Costa Maya

Would like to take an excursion but our ship was not able to dock due to rough sea/swall render unsafe by the port and captain.
