The embarkation was fairly speedy and we got on to the ship fairly quickly we were not happy after having being been awake for over 36 hours to be pounced on the moment we set foot on the ship by staff trying to sell drinks packages, spa treatments and speciality restaurants. We were given a glass of Buck's Fizz which at that time we really did not want. The cabin was quite spacious but not a lot of room for movement around the cabin die to the size of the bed and sofa. We received an open invitation via the ships newsletter to the captains night but this was really a non event. On previous cruises with other companies everyone received a personal invite and on arrival were given a drink. Celebrity would have been better if they had done the same. The evening chic dress code is rather a joke as you have people in evening suits and dresses and others in a jumper! Very disappointed by this. We were informed when booking that we could only have select dining even though we booked 20 months earlier. Select dining was awful, we turned up and was given a buzzer which would tell us when there was a table available. We complained the next day that we wanted a set time in the main dining room and were then given a table of eight which turned out very well. The food in the dining room is rather different than English fare and l struggled with the choice of main courses but the rest of the menu was fine. The staff were excellent and could not do enough for you. Our waiter Bisma and Natalia were excellent and made our dining quite entertaining.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Not a lot of room to move around.

Port Reviews

Melbourne

Lovely city. We took the free city tram which was very enjoyable

Dunedin

Beautiful scenery when sailing into port. The railway station is interesting and a walk around the town is nice.

Wellington

Took the cable car to the top and then walked down through the botanical gardens which are very interesting

Auckland

Disembarkation was a shambles. They want you off the ship as quickly as possible and then your on y our own. Coaches and taxis are caught up in a bottle neck of traffic and it it almost impossible to find your transportation.

Auckland is lovely the wharf is well worth a visit and the sky tower is a lovely sight when lit up at night. At the moment there are roadworks everywhere in the city which rather spoils it.

Sydney (Australia)

Sydney was a wonderful place to visit.
