Cabin: Verandah Suite

Hi everyone.  We were on the Amsterdam from June 27 until July 4 for our 50th birthdays, mine in May and DW in August as well as for my 30th anniversary with my company.

Our boarding process was very easy on Saturday and the security process was nonexistent compared to the airline process, my industry.  I believe that you could carry on a cannon, not that any one would want to.  We arrived early and were ushered up to the Lido while the cabins were being readied.  We ate a bite and walked the pool decks until the staterooms were ready.

We decided in late May to try a cruise and I have read the boards here nightly prior to our embarkation.  When we first booked a verandah room, we were given a "guarantee" and checked back often for a room assignment.  About a week prior, we were given our room number.  When I checked it out on the deck plan I found that it was a HC room.  Since neither of us required this type of room I questioned the assignment and was told that it was fine.  We were willing to trade for any other verandah room if someone needed ours.

Cabin Review

Verandah Suite

Cabin B

Very large verandah, at least twice the size of other verandahs which extends to the extreme aft of the ship with views to the right side as well as the rear.  Most extreme cabin to the rear of the of the Verandah deck.  Very large room wheelchair equipped.  No whirlpool tub but very large shower.  Ramp on both sides of verandah door.  Extremely quiet area of the ship.  Very large closet space with six doors, small safe, and more than sufficient storage room for clothing and three suitcases.
