Sail Date: Dec 2016

My wife and I went on one of the older ships, Empress of the Seas. It was very inexpensive. General rule of thumb in life is you get what you pay for. We have been on larger ships for longer time frames and this just couldn't compare. The food at the buffet and in the dining room was not very good. The selections were very minimal. The drinks were not as strong and the over all cleanliness was fair. If you go on one of the smaller older vessels just don't expect much! This cruise would be an OK starter vessel for someone with no expectations. I didn't find the activity list to be to grand. If you want to sit by the pool and have a cocktail, this is it because there isn't much else during the day. If you do want to sit poolside, get there early! We see families come and put their stuff on the beach chairs in the morning and rarely even use them during the day. Seeing there are only 100 or so, the staff should monitor them more closely/. For the size of this ship, I did like the 1/4mile track and the fitness room! If you simply want R&R, not horrible but don't go expecting something you would get on a newer ship!

Cabin Review

It's a cruise ship. Just big enough to sleep, shower and use the facilities!

Port Reviews

Key West

My wife and I love Key West. I would recommend waiting until 10:30 to get off the boat. Most shops do not open until then. It is a drinker's paradise. You can hit a lot of famous spots on your pub crawl.
