We Cruised 6/21 in a Penthouse Suite 7294 and decided to go luxury the entire way.  Our room was perfect, large, huge deck, huge bathroom with whirlpool, King bed, two vanities.  The bed was extremely comfortable.  For the first time, reading other reviews, we chose the Late dining and were assigned the Washington (large) dining room downstairs.  I believe I would recommend Lincoln downstairs SIMPLY because it is so difficult to navigate to Washington as many decks do not let you travel from one end to another. The food was adaquate and presentation was cheerful.  To be honest, we found Scarlett's supper club, and for only $60 for two extra, we were able to have a 5-Star experience....and chose to eat in Scarlett's every night.  Think about it...60 x 6=only $360 more and you have personal, quiet service and superb dining.  Be aware, they have NOT updated the TV menu and many items are not available such as caviar.  They have also done away with the dinner dancing, which is a shame as it was the only ballroom dancing floor on the ship.I certainly found the late dining time didn't agree with us personally, and would recommend the early dining time for most people, especially those with children.  Yes, you are a tad rushed getting ready for dinner, but you're quite hungry after a day tramping through the jungles and room service is slow at meal time. The Ivanhoe theatre was quite nice, but sit on the main floor....it's the only floor with bartender service.  On the nights that there is only one performance....don't even try to go.  The shows are adaquate, a nice way to pass the time. The casino was smoky and rather unfriendly.  If you don't know how to use the Craps tables, they are irritated.  Amazingly there is only one Texas Hold 'Em table, with crowds wanting to play.  Ask the staff to set up a sign-up sheet.Interestingly, you have to use your ship credit card to get chips to play for either Poker or slots, but only get cash back at the end of the trip....which upsets customs when they find several thousand dollars in your wallet. The ships stores were delightful for t-shirts, bags and the like, but the jewelry store was vastly over-priced.  We were advised that if one goes into central Cozumel, there are now incredible bargains because of the swine flu losses of passenger money.  There were very over-priced shops at each port.Interestingly, normally I would think it better to read a review and schedule one's own excursions for much cheaper...but by the time you find a cab, pay the cab, find a cab back....sometimes I think it's easier to let the cruise do the work for you.We tried an ultra-luxury experience...you have to ASK...it's not listed.  In Cozumel we did a PRIVATE swim with the Dolphins ($1900 for 2-20 people.)  Instead of five minutes with a crowd of people, we were the only two in the pool with four dolphins, swam, rode, were hurled in the air, petted....it was marvelous.  We tried the new-to-scuba dive....but be aware, it's a good idea to have SOME idea before you go...you get a couple of minutes instruction then suddenly have an extremely-heavy outfit on and are expected to dive down 40 feet.  I loved the Valor's bars, especially in the main lobby, on coming back from a hot jungle experience.  We didn't bother with the pools....it was an awesome sight to see pools literally packed elbow-to-elbow.  The "adult-only" pool and hot tub was not enforced.  The "adult-only" sunbathing area was available to the public, so don't expect privacy for topless sunbathing.Balconies are interestingly not private in that they have a gap between the divider and the edge and we usually saw the next-door people peering through.  We found the simple use of a chair with a towel crammed in the gap took care of this.Room service is good, very slow during meal times, quick otherwise.  The sandwiches are perfect.  I took everyone's advise and tried breakfast-in-bed, but was disappointed...no eggs/bacon, just bread and cereal.  I found the best breakfast was in Rosies where ONE line has made-to-order eggs and omlets.  I never tried the sushi place...the idea of 3000 people competing for ten places for two hours made me not even try.The "adult" midnight comedian was disgusting....he needs to WATCH Don Rickles to understand how funny Adult humor can be....this was just a tired fat guy with a poor wig, saying @#$ repeatedly. The ship photo's were excellent...avoid the Polish saleslady....she has a poor attitude.  We bought pictures, then immediately found out of the ten, two were wrong and said, no, these other two, and she refused.  We had to get the manager, then she argued with Him.  Stroll around the ship each night to the many photo ops, and you'll finally get some great pictures.  On this particular ship, I don't find the Penthouse Suite to be necessary....I saw the other rooms weren't much different, and interestingly, the Penthouse had zero amenities....no special concierge, no Valet, heck, the rooms weren't even in the Penthouse....just four rooms in the middle of one of the halls.  I DID find that pre-ordering the room baskets was a great idea, and worth it.  BE AWARE...you can't order more than 3 days from the trip, though this is not announced.  The cakes are a fabulous value as are the strawberries and Honeymoon pack (two T-shirts, Champagne, two engraved flutes.)  I had hoped pre-buying the drink tickets would be a good deal, but $20 of four drink tickets were worth exactly $20 of drinks...and drinks cost more than $5.  I know, I know, they alway say you're not allowed to bring alcohol on board, but in ten cruises I've always packed a fifth and it's nice not to have to call room service and to make a drink the way you like it.  Make SURE to pack a good book and pick up tons of magazines at the airport...there is a lot of downtime to read.  The excursion desk was the best I've ever experienced on a cruise.  Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable.  The worst problem on the ship is getting from point A to B.  Impossible on many decks. Finding Scarlett's Super club will take you an hour the first time.  Embarkation and Disembarkation were a breeze.  Amazing.  Yes, go on the Valor, use Scarlett's, use the cruise excursions, get the cheapest room with a balcony and enjoy!

Cabin Review

Cabin PH

I had the Penthouse Suite 7294. Huge, huge balcony, huge bathroom, whirlpool, very comfortable bed, two vanities, tons of storage space.  Terrible location (simply another room in the middle of the hallway.)  No Penthouse amenities at all (no Valet, concierge, special ticket handling, special priviledges.  I'd skip Penthouse and get the cheapest room with a balcony.  (I've been in Penthouse on other ships where you had a Private floor, butlet, dining room, multiple baths, etc.)
