This was a great getaway with family and friends. Chose this instead of Christmas gifts this year. Ship offers amazing venues, especially for young adults/teenagers. Plenty of activities to keep everyone occupied on long sea days. The headliner show, Abbacadabra, was fabulous. Almost thought we were watching the original group! The Ice show and Dive show were even better than on previous cruises. It's the same show, but has been beefed up and was truly well done. Comedy shows were funny though there is some language and adult content so be advised. Our dining staff, Camilo and Leighton, were fabulous. We traveled with our mother who is handicapped, and they went out of their way to accommodate her.

A few notes on traveling with mobility limited persons. The staff was great about assisting her on and off the ship. Embarkation and disembarkation was smooth and fast. We rented a scooter which was waiting for her in her room. So glad we did this as it gave her some independence. Some of the doorways were very tight to get a scooter into and some room layouts are better than others to get in and out of. The public bathrooms can be a bit of a maze to navigate, especially at crowded times. We did find other passengers to be exceedingly rude when we were trying to get her around the ship. They would push ahead of her in line and race ahead of her to get on the elevator. I felt like I had to constantly look out for her, and it made it difficult for me to relax and have a good time. This was not RCI's fault, but just had to rant a bit. Crew were always very courteous towards her. Shore excursions are limited for handicapped individuals at some of the ports, so be prepared to make other arrangements. We mostly just went to the port shops. We were able to take her scooter on and off the ship without too much difficulty. There was always a crew member there to assist at the gangway.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

Some of our party took a taxi to the beach and watched the airplane coming in. New bar/restaurant area that is amazing! The rest of us wandered through the port shops which are always clean. Felt very safe there.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

Wandered through the port shops. Not many options with handicapped. Locals very friendly.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Very close to Kennedy Space Center and definitely worth a stop if you haven't been there before.

San Juan

We walked around old town San Juan on our own. Sidewalks are narrow and traffic can be a bit heavy. One of our party is handicapped and it was challenging to navigate the streets. Most of the shops have steps up into them and are not accessible.
