Cabin: Spa Balcony

This is our third Norwegian Cruise. It was our first time in a Spa Balcony Cabin, the other were Suites. Our cabin included unlimited access to the spa facilities, 3 free Specialty meals and free standard alcohol plus $175 "play" money. The Epic is a large ship with a lot to do and eat! We ate in the garden cafe for breakfast every morning and tried Teppenyaki, Le Bistro, Wasabi, and Cagney's. All were top notch.

Others told us they felt the cabins where smaller than the Jewell class ships but we felt ours was adequate.

The Cirque show as very good, I'd pay for premium seats of I did it again. Priscilla Queen of the Desert was excellent. Burn the floor was strange and disjointed with now story to tie it together, but entertaining. Howl at the Moon was entertaining despite one of the performers seeming to be drunk and unable to remember the simplest lyric.

Cabin Review

Spa Balcony

Cabin B9

The cabin is adequate for 2 married people. The bed was short. I'm 5'4" and my feet where at the end, so it was too short for my 6' husband. The sink is in the room and the toilet is literally one step away from the bed. We saw later that every other cabin is configured this way. The alternate cabins had a sofa between the toilet and the bed so I'd suggest trying one of those. My husband and another couple complained about skinning their shins on the bed frame (its covered in velcro so as long as the dust ruffle is in place its not a problem.

The room has a small coffee maker, hair drier, spa toiletries (very nice), upgraded pool towels, and amazing amount of storage places. The balcony is a nice size and has two chairs and a small table. Note that the bottle of water on the counter counts as a $6.25 mini-bar item.

Our room steward, Bagus, was magical. We hardly saw him but our room was always very clean every morning and cleaned again and turned down at night.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

We rented a car from enterprise to get from the airport to the port because we spent one night, then took the free shuttle from Enterprise to the ship. We thought we'd be able to walk but its too dangerous as a freeway crossing a bridge is involved.

Great Stirrup Cay

We just hung out on the beach and drank and ate all day. We brought snorkel gear but the water was too cold for us (we did see kids snorkeling) Check out the taco stand, its awesome. Overall the island was a relaxing experience.
