We had an offer letter for a bargain and this was one of the cruises available. We thought it would be fun to sail over New Years. It was fun! The New year celebration was done up very well and will be remembered for many years. Aside from that the cruise itself was slightly above average. We booked Beach breaks through Island Marketing at every port and just got into the relaxation mode. Because of the holiday break, there were many children of all ages on board. We found that when we tired of the chaos and noise we could take refuge on the serenity deck. Otherwise, they just added to the atmosphere. The room steward was very attentive and gave us the option of both AM and PM service. The food was excellent in the main dinning room and above average in the buffet. Entertainment has really dropped off the last several cruises. The only thing worth watching in the show lounge was the juggler. The comedy club had good comedians if you went through the hassles of getting a seat. I believe a cruise is what you make of it. We made it a good eight day battery recharge.
We had a lower deck Ocean View With plenty of room. The second bathroom was a surprise. It had a small tub with a shower and a sink. The other one was the normal sink/toilet/shower layout. Our cabin was clean and well tended by our steward.
Bourbon Street, Cajun food, Jazz Music. What more can you say?
