I have been on carnival several times before this cruise and was very surprised how far in quality it has fallen.
The embarkation process was smooth and leaving the ship was fine and a short walk to our pickup and the van was waiting for us. The comedy was pretty good. The food in the main dining room was average. Only decent choices was fish and the steaks offered other than the formal nights were tasteless. Quick to point out on the menu you can upgrade for $20. Used to be able to get a good strip on the menu.
The entertainment was the worst I have ever seen in the main auditorium I even walked out. Cheaply done, dancers looked like they were straining and the piped in music was of poor quality. No attention to back drops. Very sad. Note to carnival: If you are leaving from a port knowing there will be cool weather for the first 2 days to your ports and on the way back have activities inside for your customers other than gambling, drinking, using your internet service or shopping $$. Only things were trivia, board games and listed to someone playing a guitar(at the bar). This cruise was set up to spend money and not to relax or have quality time with your family. Beware; get a very good price to cruise on the pride or you will be disappointed.
standard room with extended balcony. spent more time in there than we wanted as nothing to do but eat and comedy shows
every excursion was so expensive for the amount of time you had. bad place for carnival to stop.
Stayed the night before, good service with a van to take you to the port and pick up. Walked around the inner harbor.
drove around in a taxi sightseeing and shopping
