Service -dining and room were the only things acceptable. Onboard activities like North Star and Ripcord by IFly were impossible to access. You require a reservation for everything and this way you waste most of your time waiting in queue. Very disappointed also with the ethnic food that was served by special request. Clearly the chef was not familiar with Indian food. Ripcord by ifly has been installed on this ship as a marketing ploy by the company that owns this type of entertainment so that people can patronize their site when they go home. Everything has a price tag attached - very tacky. The cruise director, Drew Pavlov - made no impression on me. This person usually makes the cruise enjoyable. I've been on several cruises but this guy had absolutely no energy. Boring and lacking a sense of humor - period. RCI have invested a lot of money on these behemoth vessels - $1.03 billion for this ship and they are trying to recover their costs as quickly as possible. Don't ever buy anything from the Duty Free store - way overpriced. Good luck making reservations for any activity before sailing -they will lose your reservation and tell you to wait in line at Guest Services. A lot of passengers on this ship were upset with this general tendency and voiced their opinion. Hopefully this review will help at least one person make an educated decision before investing any time or money on RCI. This could be my last cruise on Royal Carribean International I've been on 3 prior to this including Oasis of the Seas and each experience was one worse than the previous, unfortunately.
Cabin was spacious enough, because you hardly hang out in your cabin especially when you're in line most of the time. Also, I forgot to mention, I had to make 3 trips to Deck 2 (in line there too) to get my bags because the cabin steward could not locate them - he said something like the tags were missing. I finally located mine and my husbands bag at about 6:00 pm bad experience.
No excursion taken but the embarkation process was very, very disorganized. Terrible nobody seemed to know where they were supposed to go - we were shuffled about like cattle. Gave me the impression that the receiving employees were in a hurry to get rid of all passengers and go home. Not so for the photographers tho cos all they were interested in was to sell their services. Another tacky practice on the part of RCI
