My wife and I wanted to cruise on Koningsdam because we enjoy the HAL experience and the look of this new ship. We got our chance over Christmas. The moment we stepped on board, we were amazed! Every single crew member, room steward, waiter and maintenance person we encountered had a smile and friendly greeting. We recognized one of the Lido servers from 2 years ago aboard the Eurodam.

Our interior cabin 1131 was cozy and suited us fine for the 7 days we were aboard. Meals were a mix of main dining and Lido. Lido stations proved a bit confusing as to where the station line started - in the middle, left side, right side? It seemed to change each day. Otherwise, we made adjustments to get the most enjoyment out of our cruise.

Not everyone did though. One evening at dinner, we were seated with a couple who had nothing good to say about the ship, the staff or the entertainment. Their bathroom was too small, the TV too big, the Lido food was no good, etc. Hard to believe, but some people are never satisfied. We couldn't wait to finish our meal so we could get away from them.
