This is our sixth cruise, fifth with RCCL. We prefer RC since we have had good service from them in the past.
Embarkation/Disembarkation: Smooth, no problems. Port Everglades seems to have their act together the times we have been through there. One of our favorite ports to use.
Ship: SOTS is an older ship. However, I thought it was in great shape and didn't look her age. I felt the crew kept the decks and interior clean and orderly.
We were trying to stay in a budget given that the cruise was a longer duration. We felt it was just fine for our stay, spacious enough and clean.
We've always enjoyed how speedily they get us on and off the ship.
St Maartens has a wonderful beach within walking distance (15 minutes) of the marketplace. We discovered this our last cruise. Pass through the marketplace and look for the taxi's, walk out the gate and turn left. There is a sidewalk that will take you to the Beach and Marina. You can get two chairs, umbrella and a bucket of five drinks for $20. You will be asked by all kinds of chair guys, but ask for Anthony and look for the first ones with yellow chair cushions. He and his guys work with the owner of the BeachBar. They have free WiFi. Good prices on wine and beer, can't go wrong for an inexpensive afternoon. You can see the ship from the beach. You will be asked to buy all kinds of beach merchandise by the beach women trying to sell, but if you are in the water or sleeping, they won't bother you. Highly recommended.
