In the past I have remained faithful to Holland American Cruise Line.....not any more. First the inital passenger lifeboat drill took FOREVER...most people were roaming around, the cruise people were yelling the same cabin numbers at least 7 times, people didn't know their cabin numbers, if this were a real emergency a lot of people would have been lost. I began to find this comical.
Second, I have no issue with the handicapped and disabled being able to choose their destinations freely, but just how many hover-rounds, electric wheel chairs, cains and walkers can one cram in an elevator before people who are standing in them get hurt? let me tell you I have never seen such aggresive people in my life. They need to give them a separate bank of elevators to use that will accomodate these walking aids.
Third entertainment on sea days and at night is sub par. There is really nothing to do except lay by the pool, or play in a very tight casino. The shore excursions are very pricey and not worth the time or money. You would do better to just go walk the ports of call yourself.
clean most of the time but starts to smell like mildew after a couple days. Comes from the bathrooms. The stewarts kept the room well made and they were awesome people to cruise with. During rough seas there was a constant banging on the 10th floor like a pipe against a wall but no one could find it. It was loud and hard to sleep through it.
we went to the fort and walked through it on our own.
we walked to and from town visited the shops
this is their own island and there isnt much to do on it but sunbathe or swim. They have very little shopping. the beach was nice but the lounge chairs are falling apart or missing webbing. cabana's are too expensive.
