My husband and I are 3-star Mariners and have been looking forward to sailing the Koningsdam. I
EMBARKATION: Embarkation was smooth and we ended up waiting for a short while.
DINING: We ate at several places, Lido Buffet, Main Dining Room, the Pinnacle Grill, Tamarind, NY Pizzeria, and DiveIn. Food at both pizza place and Dive In was great. I'm obsessed with the fries at the DiveIn. Tamarind was phenomenal as usual. Service was exceptional and food was outstanding. Favorite food experience on any HAL ship. the Pinnacle Grill was very disappointing. There were just a few people eating there on the night we went with another couple. Dinner took over 2 hours because service was SO SLOW! Food was good but service was really lacking. My dessert was also undercooked . They really need some improvements there. I only had snacks at the Dutch Café, but they were good and it's a nice little area.

Great room! I love the updates to the Koningsdam cabins. Our cabin was spacious. My husband loved the huge flat screen TV in the cabin. Lots of storage. Some nice updated touches too--for example the hanger rod in the closet lights up when you open the closet door. How great it is to be able to see easily what is hanging. Also, plenty of hangers in both closets. I really liked the little corner shelf that housed the wet bar area. The wall shelf under the TV is also handy to store magazines, papers, etc. Room had plenty of USB ports and plugs. Great balcony. I loved the bathroom!! The modern sink is gorgeous and there is plenty of lighting. I LOVED the stand up shower. It was modern,had plenty of room, and was easy to operate. I also thought the grey slate tile flooring was gorgeous. The updated bathrooms are awesome! Overall, our cabin was exceptional and the stewards were awesome!!
