Had a great time on this cruise. The cruise director, Patricio, was a hard working man, along with his staff and the activities director/staff. They really kept the entertainment going when I thought I'd be bored a lot. I liked the 70s night the best.
Dining was excellent - we didn't try any of the specialty restaurants but went to the MDR a couple of times and mostly went to the Windjammer. Service was so excellent in the Windjammer - everyone was very friendly and very helpful. We got the Royal Replenish package which was worth it just for the Cafe Latte-tudes coffee. Those mochas are delicious. The cup for the Coke Freestyle machines is a bit annoying to deal with, let alone that it seems unsanitary to drink out of the same cup all week without a great way to wash it out. All of the machines were down except for water and tea based drinks the first day, but once the crew learned to change the CO2 tanks more quickly, the sodas were up and running as well. If you come across a machine with all of the sodas greyed out, the best option is to let a crew member there know so they can change the tank.
We hired private taxis in both Roatan and Cozumel - this wasn't the greatest experience as we were expecting our drivers to make suggestions to us and they didn't really, so we just drove around and did a few things as we passed them. Costa Maya we booked an excursion to the Chacchoben ruins with a Mayan lunch and had a great time. We were a little concerned about the safety of Belize City so we didn't do an excursion here, just enjoyed the shopping and then went back to the ship. Looking back, I think an excursion there would have been fine.
A fine room until docking - lots of noise and I'm not sure what it was from. Not a lot of noise from inside the ship, only outside when we were docked. It was convenient to be on deck 2 when we were at port since we were very close to the gangway.
Really beautiful place with nice people and streamlined embarkation/debarkation processes.
Beautiful and plentiful shopping area - vendors were not really pushy and would leave you alone if you said no thank you. Didn't venture outside the port area.
Hired a private taxi for the day and went to the tequila factory for a tasting as well as to the chocolate factory to make our own chocolate and taste several kinds. Vendors here were pretty pushy so we had to learn to just ignore them rather than politely say "no thank you" as that didn't work.
