First let me address the positive points of this cruise. The entertainment was awesome! Of the six cruises we have been on, this one by far had the superior entertainment. The quality of singers, dancers, live band, etc. was great. We even went to one performance twice. The cruise director did a great job.
The food was very good. The wait staff was great - attentive, friendly, helpful. Sabitini's was also excellent. Try their veal chop as it is delicious and well worth the cover charge. Every day there are a couple of happy hours at different locations - 2 for 1 plus $1 which was a great value. We also enjoyed the fish and chips at the pub lunch that was held twice on this cruise.
The staff was wonderful -friendly and helpful.
Going through the Panama Canal was really interesting. So glad we had an opportunity to experience this. It literally took all day. We also enjoyed Aruba and Cartagena. We took a tour in Cartagena which was very interesting but extremely warm. We did our own thing at the other ports.
The ship itself was on the small size especially when you consider some of the mega ships now being built. However, it was the perfect size to get through the canal. At times lines were longer than I would like. It seems that anytime dining is so popular that there not enough tables for the people. Princess was asking anytime diners if they wanted to switch to the late seating. I found that interesting as when we booked this cruise we were told that anytime dining was all that was available as the standard seating so were booked up.
We had an issue with water getting into our cabin. (Under the carpet) from workers replacing water pipes on our deck. The passenger services staff was very attentive and brought in the plumber late in the evening. Otherwise, the balcony cabin was as expected.
Standard Princess balcony cabin. Good location on ship. It was a little tired and could use some updating but was clean and definitely met our needs.
We just walked around the port and bought a few souvenirs. Venders were fairly aggressive but as soon as you let them know that you were just looking, the they backed off.
Interesting. Very knowledgeable tour guide. Very hot - no breeze at all.View All 367 City Tour Reviews
Had a mudslide (really good) and grouper wrap on patio at Paddock's next to the water. Really nice.
Port is nothing much. There is a market with some interesting items but if you want to do something at this port, take an excursion.
Good restaurants right on the beach.
We stayed in Long Beach and took a cab to the port.
