We chose this cruise as our first cruise, honestly because it seemed a lot better value than other lines. I'm glad we did chose Carnival and chose Avoya travel to book it through. Every Carnival employee, down to a person, seemed friendly and eager to help. The embarkation went smoothly, took about 1 hour total from when we got in line to when we actually got on the ship so I thought that was reasonable. The cabin was fine for the 3 of us (Me, Wife, and older son). We got the King Bed with a sofabed room which was great. The bed was super comfortable, nice and firm with good pillows.
The dining was excellent, especially for dinner. Whoever says otherwise must've just chosen to get the fast food for all of their trip and didn't take advantage of the main dining rooms. It was very high-class food, well prepared, and served by happy, helpful waiters. Breakfast/Lunch choices were also great, from a full buffet, or pizza or Guy Fieri burgers. The sushi was an upcharge, but wow, best spicy tuna roll I ever had for $5.
Really enjoyed the nightly entertainment. They were like productions you'd see in Las Vegas or similar. Our cruise director, Eric, was hilarious. Never laughed so hard as we did at the "Love and Marriage" show. Comedians at the Punchliner were top rate as well.
A bit of a jungle at the port and Miami traffic is a pain
Nice area to visit, had never been there before. Felt safe walking thru town.
Just a touristy shopping area for the most part. The bar at the beach was actually asking like $20 for a fish sandwich!!
Didn't like Cozumel. I don't need to overpay for cheap Mexican knockoffs.
