Sail Date: Dec 2016
Cabin:

We were looking for a short cruise to just get away for a week. We've sailed with NCL before and been very satisfied, but normally sail with Holland America. We had a very inexpensive inside cabin. The lighting in the cabin was very poor making it very difficult to put on makeup or to read. The best light was either in the closet or the shower. The bathroom facilities were split (shower on one side, toilet on the other) and the sink was installed on the small dressing table so there was virtually no room to act as a dressing area. The "showroom" was small so the entertainment was repeated several times during the cruise so in the evening, if you didn't want to drink heavily or gamble, there was little to do. Library was extremely small - photo area was HUGE and laden with computer monitors to view your photos. It rarely had anyone using them. The escalator running between decks 5 and 6 was WONDERFUL and the elevators were horrible .. ran extremely slow. Dining was awful ... food in the main dining room was always cold for no apparent reason. Staff were nice, but very slow. We always had trouble getting our card back after ordering wine with dinner. The buffet was so overcrowded and the food wasn't much better there with virtually no one behind the counters ...just food sitting out .. even first thing in the morning, it looked like left overs. The male wait staff around the buffet were usually busy talking with each other and commenting about the girls (yes, some of us understand your language). Off loading for tenders to their island took nearly 4 hours due to the "heavy" seas ... not even a foot. This ship is shaped like a big box. It rocks and rolls in minor seas. It appears to be what we would label a gambling and drinking ship ... not one for a relaxing time. The Cirque Dreams dinner show was excellent. Room cards had to be used so often (it had to be scanned everywhere - the walk in comedy club, the showroom - everywhere), the writing was worn off. Luckily the bar code still worked. Not an enjoyable time - worst cruise (total of 30 cruises)

Cabin Review

Cabin No idea - cheap inside cabin

Nice lights in the closet. Clean with beach towels. Four hard pillows. Shower worked well. Sliding barn type doors on the shower and toilet area were very noisy. Cabin steward was great. Room lighting was terrible. Excellent storage for a very small cabin. Television/remote didn't work very well, couldn't do the things it was supposedly capable of. Extremely bright tablet type phone ...bad for sleeping, but good for use as a night light.
