Cabin: Deluxe Veranda 1A

We chose the Solstice because of the itinerary. There were 3 couples going together. Two of us booked cabins with balconies. The cabins are clean but small. The cabin service was fine. But the other service providers seemed somewhat unhappy.

From the moment we walked on the boat, numerous people asked us to "upgrade our beverage package." They were quite insistent. I already had the highest level so that I could receive designer water and good wine. However, when I requested the more expensive wines, the wine steward tried to talk me into a less expensive brand.

The food was quite bad. I order a filet of beef which turned out to be about 1/2 inch thick. The special dinner offerings (beef wellington, lobster, and lamb chops) were all offered on the same day.

Deluxe Veranda 1A

Cabin 1A

Small but adequate. Good cabin service cleaning. Bed was comfortable but many ship noises (clunks and clangs) that I hadn't heard in previous cruises.
