My father actually arranged this cruise, partly as a geneology search. I was lucky enough to go along. The ship and crew and ports of call were all terrific. Attention to details for passenger comfort was tremendous. Made so many friends among the crew, from the Horizon Court to room stewards, that I have booked this ship again for a February 2017 family reunion cruise! I even booked the same cabin!!! Food was good; entertainment was good; stateroom comfort was good; crew interaction was good...just no complaints here at all. Wish there was a n/a button for the ratings though. I have rated those as average without actually experiencing them. Some things we just did not do or participate in to rate. I did ask for a foam topper for my bed, which was supplied immediately. I have back and hip problems that just needed a bit more cushioning but the beds were comfortable. Easy on and off the ship with Princess transfers from the airport and we also booked our overseas flights through Princess. Everything was simple and it was a comfort to know that the details were nailed down before we left the States. I would, and will, definitely sail on this ship again and am going to level up to Platinum on my next cruise! Love my Princess ships.

Port Reviews

St. Peter Port (Guernsey)

Lovely port town to walk. Street entertainment was fun. Motor bike race the day we were there was exciting. Watching folks practice sailing in the yacht basin was interesting. Walked out to the castle and lighthouse. Thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Cobh (Cork)

Found a lovely cathedral church up above the town for Sunday Mass. 10am, for those that need to know. Then took a bus into Cork and rode the hop on-hop off bus to see the town. Very enjoyable.

Dublin

The weather was sunny and warm and we rode the hop on-hop off bus around town to take in the sights. Had tea and scones in a small shop in the mall at the center of town. Yummy!

Liverpool

I wanted a bit of country to see and took the local train to the Chester Zoo. Great thing was that I was able to get my round-trip train, round-trip bus and zoo entrance all at the same time at the train station. Great service, about 38 pounds for everything for a whole day! Just needed more time to see everything but enjoyed it all.

Belfast

Hop on-hop off bus was put into service again. We stopped at Belfast Castle (beautiful views and lovely gardens with a kitty cat theme) and spent about 2 hours there. Rest of the town tour was also very nice. Showed us that there are many things to come back to see and do.

Greenock (Glasgow)

I know this is boring but hop on-hop off buses were our primary method of seeing the towns and visiting a couple of places at a low cost. Two of our party did go on an excursion to see the Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle from this stop and really enjoyed that as well.

Invergordon (Inverness)

Loved this town. Walked it all. No bus here but you would miss so much if there were. About 20 murals on walls all over town told so many stories from the departure of local soldiers for World War 1 to ecological statements and honoring their fire and sea rescue services. Flowers everywhere; an interesting maritime museum (also with a mural on the side); two lovely churches (Saturday Mass at noon at the Catholic Church); great private gardens worth searching out as well. Residents were friendly and talkative.

Edinburgh (South Queensferry)

Hop on-hop off again. Did walk up to the castle after stopping at a great whiskey store/restaurant about half way up the cobbled mile walk. Street performers and intriguing magic shops were also a highlight. Lots of things in this town to come back for another extended visit.
