We take many cruises and even enjoyed RC in the past. The 4 of us asked for 6:00 dinning at the Minstrel dinning room and got a confirmation a fews weeks ahead. While doing some business at Guest Relations we found out that it never went through because they have trouble with Safari users!!! The first 2 nights at the dinning room, the maitre de could not accommodate our request for a window seat, even though the dinning room was not full. The same occurred at lunch when the room was almost empty! The food the first 2 days was poor. The Sea Bass was returned because the taste and texture was terrible. The NY strip steaks were too chewy to eat. The vegetables were hard, and the fancy desserts you expect, never appeared. The restaurant staff are professional and do a good job. The next few meals we dinned at the Windjammer Cafe. Food was a bit better but boring because it was repeatedly presented. The breakfast scrambled eggs were not made with real eggs so we resorted to waiting for ours to be cooked at the back cooking station. There were many of us there! Pancakes were hard and tasteless! Where was the inventive and special Cruise dinning???
The adult pool was even crowded & noisy because many children used it as a path through to go to activities. Adult activities were limited to presentations that RC could sell you services or products. We were not interested in the men's belly flop or the sexiest man contests! Three of the events we went to were cancelled. The champagne brunch, and the sushi tasting ++ never happened. The Izumi specialty restaurant is worth visiting. Try the hot rock cooking at your table. The casino machines are old and the smoking takes away the enjoyment. The evening shows were good and creative. The last nights show was a hit.
The rooms are kept clean by well trained staff. The waterfront gym is old but usable. Instead of the old water fountain why not have containers of lemon water available?
Nice balcony, but the glass was stained by the water and not cleaned. Cabin kept very clean, shower is very small.
Easy to park across from Pier #3. Easy to get in and out of town
Took a taxi the 3 miles into town. Millions of similar stores with people outside pleading for you to come in. The "diamonds", silver, tee shirts, & hand made stuff was repeated all through town. Next time take an excursion to a beach!
