the constellation is a "human size" ship, few years ago it would have been a large ship, today we can say medium with BTW a nice ratio of crew/passengers.

we selected this cruise cuz the price which was unbelievable price we couldn't refuse and also because the ports.

DINING : We choose 'our time" dining, some nights we made reservation which are available only for dining between 6:00 and 7:00pm later you need to wait in line, they handle a "remote buzzer" that will inform you when your table is available. We liked very much the food, and we got the same waiter few nights so we had more than an excellent service, and the sommelier couldn't be better. In fact we felt everyone was doing that extra mile to make our meal an excellent experience. after one night the waiter knew our preferences and always went ahead of us, i.e. he notices we liked very much fish and seafood, so he would add an extra seafood item in the appetizers (6 shrimps instead of the 3 usual ones) the sommelier noticed we preferred red wine, he would always come with a selection of 3 bottles of red wine, after a few nights the selection was more precise to our taste. I liked to have a cocktail ... the barman when he used to see me would bring it to the table automatically with a personal welcome ( he would remember my name). Small things that enhance the pleasure of cruising.

Oceanview cafe : nothing to say employees are very friendly, waiters would bring our speciality cafe as they see us .... for lunch the selection increases after noon. one comment I read (previous critics) and dont agree ... I am glad there s no tray, so much food waste with one plate imagine with a tray ....

About taxi in UAE : prices will vary depending on the size of the car (the cheaper are the "Toyota Camry type" beige with a colored top, and the place you hop on for example starts 20 Dirham at airport and cruise terminal - 3,50 downtown .... and depending on the time of the day .. In Dubai to get to the closest metro station is about 35 AED, the metro day pass is 22 AED. Taxi are efficient and not very expensive depending how smart you use it.

abu dhabi : very large port cannot walk out, free shuttle takes you to the WTC shopping mall. if you go to the mosque dont dress "as required" they will lend you what necessary and makes great pictures for souvenir. The mosque is a must see. taxi airport to ship will cost you about 90 Dirham (40 min)

Dubai : very large commercial port no shuttle. You either have to take a taxi or HOHO bus (very expensive) Must see, for shoppers, is the Emirates mall (interior ski slope), the Dubai mall (very large aquarium, skating rink and the waterfalls) and also connects to the Burj Khalifa. I think Going to the 148th floor is a thrill of a lifetime .. at least for me ... have to admit, its unique.

Muscate : the section near the port is the most interesting part (old souk which is close between 1:00 and 4:00 pm), I duo not recommend to walk to the town 5 KM has many Gov. buildings and schools , no commercial activity (practically no cafe no stores) and you meet nobody in the streets.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

they take you to the Jameira tower/hotel 74th floor. Serves tea or coffeewith (too many about 20 - 25 cakes / pastries per person) sweets. After been to the Burj Khalifa this was "ordinary" Cost 270$ .... not worth it

the town section near the cruise port is the most interesting part (old souk, closed between 1:00 and 4:00 pm), I do not recommend to walk to the town 5 KM it has many Gov. buildings and schools , no commercial activities (practically no cafe no stores) and you the streets are empty.

FYI you cannot walk in the port, a free shuttle will take you from the ship to an administrative building where you will go through a metal detector door, then get back in the shuttle to the port exit.ab: very small town, not much to see. If you plan to visit the mosque, need to cover from wrist to ankle (no sandals) and women hair must be covered. strongly suggest to purchase the shuttle ticket (sold 10$ pp by ship) the town is 5 km away but the bus did a few turns here and there ... can be a challenge to find the right road to town.

There s a beach easy access, go right when exit the port, 5 min walk
