This was our 23rd cruise and we wanted to try a higher end cruise line. Our agent talked us into this cruise on the Insignia in a penthouse suite. We would never cruise on this ship again. Would only go on this cruise line if travel agent found the deal of a lifetime. Had lobster dinner in Toscana and it was bad; got sick. Chef's attitude was poor. They sent us a platter of chocolate covered strawberries next day as apology. Food overall was not good. Ordered meat rare, came med to med-well. Over cooked seafood. Very rarely did servers ask if our meal was good or not, even when we left half or almost full plates. One meal the server started breaking down the table while we were still eating dessert. The "penthouse suites" were small. About the size of a deluxe balcony or mini suite on other ships. The prices of bottles of wine was a joke. Wines that we drink at home were marked up over 200%. The staff was wonderful, which was helpful on this cruise. Always a smile and wanting to help. Butler service was good. Entertainment in lounge was average. Seating was tough. If you got seat in the back, you could not see. Bad sight lines.

Cabin Review

Penthouse Suite

Cabin PH1

Trouble with air-conditioning when boarding. He fixed but then it got too cold. Said he fixed again, but was never right complete cruise. We turned it up/down constantly. Never got correct temperature. Smallish cabin for penthouse. Bathroom had 1/2 glass wall, made no sense. High tub, tough to get into. A little dated.
