We chose to go on this cruise because of the interesting itinerary and the fantastic deal we got. A concierge cabin was cheaper than a balcony cabin and it came with the 123 deals where we chose the beverage package and free gratuities. We have cruised previously with Princess, Royal Caribbean and Carnival and were really excited to try Celebrity. Embarkation was very smooth as was debarkation. We really enjoyed all the ports we stopped at and having a sea day between most of them was fantastic as it gave you a day to recharge before the next port.

The ship itself is fairly old and our cabin while clean showed signs of wear and tear. The curtains onto the balcony were ripped and dirty. It looked like someone had jammed them in the balcony door as the marks looked like oil. I showed Edy our cabin steward as I didn't want him to think we had done it. He asked his supervisor if he could replace the curtain but was told they were all like that. Edy was very good and went out of his way to assist and kept the cabin clean.

The food in the main dining room was very much hit and miss. Lunches were on the whole good but the dinners weren't up to the standard we've had on any other cruise. Once our entire table sent their meals back. Some had the fish and the others chicken. The fish was inedible and the chicken Kiev dried out and so tough it couldn't be cut with a knife. Never experienced anything like it. The maître de took our meals away to show the chef but never got back to us with what he said. I ran into her on the last morning of the cruise and she said the chef was grateful to us and wouldn't be serving that fish again on the next cruise. Because the meals in the main dining room were so inadequate we ended up dining in the speciality restaurants 5 times. In all the cruises we have done we have never felt the need to dine anywhere else other than the main dining room so that will give you an indication of the sub standard food. The speciality restaurants were excellent in every way. The food, services and beverages were all superb. We didn't try the Sushi restaurant as one of our party didn't like sushi but the menu looked very good and we would have liked to try it.

Port Reviews

Manila

We took a private tour to the old part of Manila which was very interesting. On the whole though we didn't like Manila and wouldn't chose to go back there.

Singapore

We love Singapore. We had a few days there prior to embarking on the cruise and really enjoyed it.
