We chose this Panama Canal cruise because it started and ended in the same port, Ft. Lauderdale. All of the ports on this itinerary were new to us, a great adventure.

Embarkation was fine, we were even on the ship in advance of our anticipated boarding time. The disembarkation was terrific because we chose to use EZ Check that took our bags from outside our stateroom and delivered them to our home airport baggage claim. We opted to take an Uber to the Ft Lauderdale airport for $11 (not including tip) instead of the Princess arranged airport shuttle to the airport.

The service (bar stewards, wait staff, cabin steward, etc.) on the ship was terrific. Calls to passenger services were slow to be answered.

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

I went to a few shops in Georgetown before finding Diver’s Down dive shop just a couple blocks to the north of the pier where the tender docked. I joined a group to snorkel above a wrecked ship just outside their doors. That was a treat. My husband had made arrangements with a local guide, Fish Tales, to go fishing. All in all – a nice day away from the crowds.
