From the time you first walk aboard the Carnival Vista to when you have to get off the ship, you will be amazed at everything Carnival has to offer you on this fantastic ship. The only draw back is that there is so much fun stuff to do on the ship, you will never be able to do or go to everything they have to offer. I was amazed at how they fit the IMAX theater into the ship. The screen is a full sized IMAX screen, with seating for over 180 plus an awesome sound system. I was able to do every movie and documentary they had on IMAX. I was also able to do every show in the Thrill Theater. I was there so many times that the staff new me by name and I knew them by name. My thanks to Sue, Stephanie and Terrance for making the Multiplex Theaters one of the highlights of my cruise. Sue has high hopes to become a Director of Entertainment for Carnival, she will have no problem getting to that position with her awesome personality and Fun spirit. They were showing Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Doctor Strange, both in 3D. They also had Inferno in 2D. It was a lot of fun for me since I hadn't been to a movie theater in over 15 years.

Skyride was another very unique addition to the Carnival Vista. My first ride I took it slow and easy, but from then on, I had more fun the faster I went. Its sort of like a mild roller coaster and bike ride with dips and turns. My absolute favorite thing on board this ship was my Havana Cabana stateroom. The stateroom itself is about average size with a Cuban style decor. The stateroom was very nice but once you open the floor to ceiling sliding glass door, you go right on to the most fantastic balcony Carnival has ever had on any ship. The balcony is about 3 times larger than your standard balcony. You have your choice from a hanging chair, a nice lounge chair or a regular chair to sit on. You also have a large foot rest and a table. To get to the exclusive pool and spa area from your balcony all you had to do is open the gate and walk onto a common area walkway that leads to the pool area.

If you want to go somewhere on Deck 5, you went through a door that is locked at all times. My stateroom was the closest to this door and I hardly ever saw anyone go through it. To go through the door from the rest of the ship you had a special card that you waved in front of a square box next to the door and you were back to the Havana Cabana area. The Havana Cabana area is exclusive to about 60 cabins. There is a pool and two hot tubs at the back of the ship that are exclusive to the Havana Cabana area. There was plenty of lounging area for sunning or sitting. If I were with Carnival, I would rename these cabins as the Havana Cabana Suites and Super Suites because every Havana Cabana cabin is better than any suite on the ship. I loved the Havana Cabana area and hope to be able to get another one in the future.

Cabin Review

Havana Cabana (Balcony)

Cabin HE

The Havana Cabanas on the Carnival Vista bring Carnivals concept of having fun to these staterooms. If you are not into having your deck wide open so you meet and talk to your neighbors or walking down the deck and meeting new friends or spending hours sitting in or by the pool and hot tub, this style cabin isn't for you. The pool area was always very quiet and peaceful. So you will have fun meeting people and being able to relax and swim with no crowds. The Havana Cabanas are the perfect cabins on board this ship. The cabins are very nicely decorated in Cuban style colors and decorations. The bathroom is your standard size. I personally rate this cabin style, the best Carnival has ever developed. Awesome just Awesome.
