We booked this cruise for the destinations and the timing, between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We had traveled to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean on our own sailboat several years ago and wanted to revisit some of our favorite places. The islands were as we remembered. The time aboard ship was so relaxing. The staff was very warm and informative. The Royal Princess is an unbelievably beautiful ship that is very easy to navigate. We had a mini-suite that was quite comfortable. Although the balcony was small, it was perfect for the two of us.

The food was way too delicious! We ate Anytime Dining in the Concerto most nights. We found Damian Bogdan, a fantastic waiter, on our first night. He and his assistant, Nenad Sanic made us feel like family. They provided such wonderful service and such wonderful company that we requested their section every night thereafter. We loved the shows, but found the timing for anytime dining in the Concerto to conflict with show times many nights. We could not enter the Concerto until 7:30 each night and the early shows were typically at 7:15 or 8:15. We were not able to stay awake late enough to attend the shows after 10 pm. What we did see was most enjoyable!

My only complaint would be with the Horizon dining. We found it to be confusing at first. It is very spread out. Once we learned the difference between the Horizon Bistro and the Horizon Court, it was a bit easier. The service throughout the ship was typical Princess - friendly but professional folks everywhere! The excursions we took through Princess were really nice. We especially enjoyed the boat trip to St. John's from St. Thomas and the ride around the island. We always book a future cruise while on board, and did so this time. We look forward to our next time in Paradise! We continue to sing the praises of our Princess experiences! Both embarkation and disembarkation were fast and painless!

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin ME

The cabin was in the forward section of the ship. That is our preference. Although some fear the movement of the ship that far forward, we love it. That area is very quiet. The cabin itself was quite spacious. That bathroom was wonderful! It was large with a full size bathtub. There is plenty of storage in the cabin, especially with the suitcases under the bed. Lots of drawer space. There is a curtain that can separate the sleeping area from the sitting area, though we never used it. The coffee table was great for having our breakfast in the cabin, but a little large for moving around, especially when our friends came to visit. Our cabin steward was good, but did not interact with us as much as previous stewards. He did keep our cabin very neat and clean.

Port Reviews

Princess Cays

The island is gorgeous! We took the tender in and spent time on the beach. The food on shore provided by Princess was a pleasant surprise. The water was spectacular! Loved time on the island and then the time sitting on our balcony just looking at the water! Great day!

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Took the Princess shuttle to and from the airport. That was a simple process. Didn't see anything of Fort Lauderdale but the airport and seaport.
