We decided we wanted to cruise on Sunday, Dec. 11th. We were put on a waiting list & was called the day before (14 Dec) that a cabin opened up. Of course this was an interior cabin. We did not decide straight away on taking the cabin. We looked at the floor plan to make sure it fit our needs. We called Carnival & reserved our sailing. We both have a requirement that having a night stand makes life much easier. The floor plan showed that it the cabin has two night stands. Oh, the cabin number is 7304. When we got onboard of course there was not two nightstands. Actually no night stands, for the inboard side of the bed there was the shelf. Not cool. We had to figure something out for our needs. Then we attempted to use magnets to route an extension cord & the first time since we began cruising the bulkheads were not metal. Again had to devise another way around this.
I need to mention the lack of cleanliness of our cabin. There were broken hangers in one of the closets. Something on the one extra take was sticky. Carnival no longer does a nightly turn down service. So your room only gets attention once per day. The bathroom had cracks & chips in the sink the mirror/medicine cabinet would not close unless you fidgeted with it for a minute or so. It had to be lifted, cocked then pushed in.
Another annoying habit is the crew has gone from calling you my Mr.(insert last name), to Mr. (insert first name), to just using the first name. I'm not a prude but I thought this was just a little too informality.
