  3. Carnival Breeze
First time on the Breeze. We chose this ship on this date because of the itinerary: Key West, Nassau, & Freeport. Parked right across the street from port at VIP Indoor Parking Garage. (Super nice people - very convenient) Embarkation was easy as pie - lots of Carnival people to guide you in the right direction. Grabbed some lunch at Guys's Burgers and some at Tandoor. Both are Delicious!!! Met some nice people at the table next to us. Workers in seating area were very pleasant and kept tables clean. We had 4 adults in a balcony room on Deck 9, towards the front of ship. Loved having the balcony! Beds were comfortable and housekeeping crew was great! Very friendly and hard-working. Heard a lot of "bumps" that first night since it was pretty rough seas, but nothing you can do about that. Bathroom was just the right size, and water pressure in shower was great (one of my pet peeves is low water pressure). We participated in a lot of the Trivia games on Deck 5. The Fun Squad people were very entertaining and friendly! Tried the bean bag toss, which is always a challenge! My husband and my brother enjoyed the two water slides - even got the kids around them involved in playing some games and splashing each other (!). Went to an outdoor movie one night by the pool. I'm glad they have fuzzy blankets to check out at the towel station. Tried to go check out the ropes course one day, but it was closing down since the winds were too high. We've done it before on another ship and had lots of fun. Comedy Club: did not let us down. Very funny stuff! Sat right in the front / middle area and got involved - Yikes! Drink service was better and faster than usual in the club. Dining: went to Main Dining Room every night for late assigned dinners. Ours was in the back of the ship, and it seemed colder back there. Had wonderful ladies sitting with us at a table for 8. The wait staff was right on!! Very accommodating and patient and friendly. The food was just what we expected, having cruised on Carnival many times. Our favorites are the Jerk Pork Loin, Prime Rib & Lobster, Pumpkin Soup, Shrimp Cocktail, and the Pork Chop at Sea Day Brunch. And of course, chocolate melting cake!! ** I have made it a point to not eat at the buffet, since the food elsewhere is so good ** Ports: Key West, we walked around. Went into the Aquarium - very small, but still had interesting things to see. Ended up at a Sports Bar to eat (meh), then went to Kermit's Key Lime Shop for chocolate dipped key lime pie-on-a-stick (YUM!). Freeport, we had reserved a ride to Paradise Cove/Deadman's Reef online direct through their website. Short bus ride to beach with very nice driver. We had a blast there - three of us did the snorkel package and one did beachgoers package. Not much to see close to shore, but an awesome reef out a little further. For $5 pp, they'll take you out to reef on a little boat so you don't have to swim the whole way. But if you swim, there are floating "rafts" at three different spots so you can rest. Saw 6 huge spotted eagle rays (had never seen them before!) - so exciting!! Lots of colorful coral and fish. Nassau, we had hired a private pontoon boat with captain beforehand, online direct through their website. He took us snorkeling at two spots which were amazing. Parked at private (abandoned) island and beach. Went to Goodman's Bay to see sea turtles and rays swimming in the shallow water. Wonderful day! Disembarkation was the easiest and fastest we've ever experienced. Smooth. Overall, a good all-around family cruise. We remain loyal to Carnival because the cruises are consistently FUN, entertaining, and a good bargain, with very clean ships and hard-working friendly crew.

Loved the Eastern itinerary from Galveston

Cabin Review

Balcony
Cabin 8D 9224
Typical Carnival room size and layout. We had a pull down bunk, a sofa bed underneath, and two twin beds put together to make a King. Good water pressure in shower.
