PARDON MY SPELLING. CHEERSWe had an early flight out of IAH to FLL. ALmost missed the flight because of long lines at TSA. Barley made it and we were on our way. We flew in the day before our 6/13/09-6/20/09 Liberty of the Seas cruise (western carribean). It was our first cruise and we were really excited and axious. We landed at rneted a car and drove to the Holiday Inn Express- Doral. The next day we got a taxi to the port after dropping off car. Check in seemed really smooth. Just like in a quite airport. We went up to our room. We had an adjacent promenade and balcony room. rooms 8279 and 8278. bigger than i thought ;). we went up to the winjammer for lunch. the ship was huge. i loved seeing it for the first time in the taxi. what i reccomend doing on the first day, if youre new to cruising, is walk around and get to know where everything is. we had table 339 on rembrant dining room next to the window :0. we had it changed to this the first night. what to do:i pretty much hit the arcade, played pickup basketball, flowrider, ate at windjammer, and watched the shows. i watched every single show they had to offer. if you have time, then go to them! there only like an hour long. my favorite was the encore, the ice show and the opening and farewell show were good. ports:labadee: if you got kids then i reccomend you get them the aqua park pass. they go in for an hour with a lifejacke at go on these cool water toys. This is what me, my bro, and dad did. The tender is not that bad if your worrying. dont go to early or to late. eat breakfast, then make your way to the boat. i wish we would of gone a little earlier to get shady part, but we did manage some chairs under a tree. the ship is parked in like a cove thing so take some pics. ocho rios: docked today. thank god. we could take our time. we had a tour booked. though. ocho rios highlights. we got of at met with our guide and took a van to some garden or ruin thing. she showed us different plants and tree there. it was pretty cool. after, we head over to the famous dunns river falls. YOU NEED WATER SHOES TO PARTICPATE. unfortuneately i didnt bring any and they sold them at ridiculous prices. but i did get to rent a waverunner for half an hour, and yes i got to drive it . no license or nothing, and im 15. it was ridiculously fun. grand cayman: on of my favorite ports. we got on the tender and got to the island where we waited for our tour to be called. we were doing the turtle farm, stingray city, and land & sea adventure tour. highly reccomended. we took a nice bus to a turtle farm where they had hundreds of turtles you could pick uo and stuff. after, we headed over to this rum cake factory to tasted rum and cake.pretty good :p. we bought some cake and a bottle of tortuga mango rum. after the facotry , we drove to this marina and took a boat to stingray city. this is probably one of my favorte expierences ever on vacation. the stingrays are harmless, except if you feed them they could bite your fingers. feed them how they show you. they swim all around you, like dogs and catgs rubbing on you. you can feed them and snorkel with them. so much fun. cozumel: here. we had nothing planned lol. we got of, since it was docked, and casually walked thru the markets and saw this guy advertising his taxi tour. for 100 bucks we booked him all day for a tour. he took us to paradis beach , where we spent an hour or two. very nice beach, you can go parasailing and waverunning too. after, we went to the shops downtown. they have a hardrock and a senor frogs. and that carlos and charteys restaruant. good nachos and a big party atmosphere. bought some shirts and headed for a scenic tour with the driver showing cozumel's beauty. he took us back to the port and we shopped around a bit. i bought a mini guitar and some oakley sunglasses. probably fake but they looke real! disembarkation: we had the white luggage tags, meaning we were the first to get off. we had a flight out of FLL at 11:45 and we really though we wernt going to make after hearing people complain that leaving the ship is such a hassle and takes forever. we woke up late, and even ate breakfast. finished at 7:00 and went down to deck 1 to disembark. lots of mad people, cursing at yelling because they forgot something. we got off the ship and went to our luggae carsouel. as soon as we arrived our luggae was making its round and we nabbed all 5 check ins ( I KNOW, ALOT OF LUGGAE FOR 4 PEOPLE). we got some shuttle to take us to FLL for $70 total and we arived ther at like 9:00. we were like omg. but we waited and hopped on our plane to houston. hope you enjoyed. ~jay
