We chose this cruise based on the ports as we had not been to Asia before. It was our second cruise with Celebrity, our previous one was on the Eclipse last year. Embarkation at Singapore was excellent and we were on the ship within 30 minutes of arriving at the port. Our room was ready quite quickly and we were very pleased with room 7003 which was an ocean view room right at the front of the ship and was very large. Our room steward, Muhammed, kept our room very clean and was very polite if we saw him in the corridor. The quality of the food in the main dining room was superb which was a relief as some of the previous reviews for the Millennium had us a bit worried. What wasn't so good was the attention to detail, all of the staff seemed to be rushed and compared with our previous cruise not so friendly. There definitely seems to be a drop in the staff to guest ratio which is having a negative impact on customer service. Another issue we had was the lack of wine choices, it seemed to change every night night and seemed to be a deliberate ploy to give us the cheaper wines as we were on a drinks package. We were given various excuses including we were in the wrong part of the world for some wines! We also had issues with drinks by the pool and in the bars, on several occasions our cocktails did not contain any alcohol and because there were hardly any pool waiters this resulted in a trip back to the bar and at times having to wait 15minute stop be served the correct drink. The bar on the top deck was regularly closed as staff were needed elsewhere. There also seemed to be good bar men and not so good, some drinks were not mixed properly.....the staff just seemed to be rushed all of the time. On our previous Celebrity cruise we had none of these issues despite having the same drinks package.

We did enjoy the entertainment in the theatre most nights particularly the Millennium dancers who served up some fantastic shows, Boogie Wonderland was our favourite. The Diamonds were also very good.

We never had an issue getting sun beds and enjoyed our time on the sun decks making good use of the pools.
