This was my 3rd cruise, the first being Carnival, the second being Norwegian. Not only was the price better but the value was outstanding. I travel solo. Norwegian is the only cruise line I know of that offers solo traveler studios. But wanting a balcony room, I am willing to pay the double cost (double occupancy) to get the balcony room on this cruise line. The Escape is the newest ship, and it shows. Everything was immaculate, and the food offerings were amazing in variety and quality. I like freestyle cruising. I can pack one carry-on bag and matching tote...that's it. No extra luggage for all the fancy dress-up outfits and accessories. Eat what I want when I want, no strict schedules. Zero stress. Fantastic service, entertainment, and activities for all ages. I noted several travelers talking about how happy the crew was...that it was a positive sign that they loved their jobs and must be treated well. So many dining options, I believe it was 24 restaurants and an equal number of bar/lounge areas. Some are specialty restaurants, very upscale, and impose extra costs. But my favorite meals were on the buffet. Outstanding prime rib and filet, soups, salads, desserts. Luxurious bedding! As for the destinations, I will repeat an itinerary that includes St Thomas, as that was my favorite stop. Too much to see and do in one visit. I will return. I purchased NCL transportation from the airport to the ship and back. So stress-free. I felt safe the entire trip. Cons? If you do not like profanity in the shows, pay attention to the ratings as "adult" or "not recommended for children". I saw art class, ice carving class, and MORE...so many choices, can't be bored! Detox for the soul in every way...

Cabin Review

Cabin balcony

Reasonable size with plenty of storage. Two occupants would be quite comfortable, three might be crowded. Everything worked perfectly. Great view. This was midship, and one floor below the buffet and pool offerings. No elevator wait...just walk up 1 set of stairs to reach most everything except the evening shows or other restaurants. Convenient.

Port Reviews

Tortola

Hey, check out the internet cafe there...and probably available at the other stops. 30 minutes for $5. Great buy compared to ship pricing!
