Every few years my DH's grandparent take the family on a cruise. We have sailed many cruise lines and we were excited to try Princess for the first time. The grandparents had sailed Princess previously and gave rave reviews. I myself love to cruise and enjoy interacting with people from all over the world, experiencing the ports, and relaxing.
Before the cruise I (somewhat obsessively) researched the boat and read several reviews from people stating that the staff was rude, the staterooms were lacking, or that the food was mediocre. I chocked it up to people being complainers. Boy was I wrong!
The best part of the trip (besides the ports) was the Embarkation and Debarkation. Both were so incredibly fast and easy! Every other cruise line needs to take a page out of Princess' method because I really don't think it could have been easier.
I loved the chocolates on my pillow every night. Nice touch. Too small bathroom and too difficult to move around with the beds down from the ceiling.
Super quick embarkation. Very organized. I was on the ship in less than an hour.
The family and I (all 21 of us) rented a couple vans and went to Mismaloya Beach, It was a lot of fun and we all enjoyed being together. If you go though, don't forget the bug spray! The sand fleas at Mismaloya are OUT OF CONTROL!!!
Take a cab to one of the cruiser-friendly resorts on the beach! They open the resort up to cruisers and for $15 US we were able to get an umbrella on the beach, lounge chairs, and we had a server to tend to our every need. Throw in use of the clean bathrooms and it was heaven!
Cabo has always been my favorite spot in the Mexican Riviera, but with all of the building going on it is more like Downtown La Jolla (in San Diego, CA) than the quaint fishing village it once was. I was very disappointed with Cabo this time around.
