This was a first for us being on such a large ship. So places did get crowded a bit, but with all the activities going on it really was done quite well. We loved the ports of call and the ropes course. Making reservations to see the shows was a new one for us but it seemed to work out ok. Now for some nitpicks. NCL denies you bringing liquids but then charges you $5.50 for a liter of bottled water. The prepared salads in the buffet all seem to have meat in them. It was frustrating for my wife who is a vegetarian to see Quinoa salad with Ham in it for example. Lastly it was very difficult to put your clothes in the room since there are no drawers. Just strange geometric shapes that you have to leave your clothes rolled up. The NCL app worked pretty good but could use some improvement. For example the app does not know how to handle negative balances or 0 balances so it shows the next amount and when you scroll it changes.
I was going to consider getting the ship internet but when my phone kept timing out on NCL.com the free website, I said forget it. Though I did notice that the ship internet did allow me to do google searches for free, which was decent since I could see the weather at home.
I also liked how one evening we were approached by 3 members of the crew to ask for feedback. We gave them some good honest feedback as well as praise for what NCL does that other cruiselines do not.
The location is great for getting off the the ship as you are just one floor up. It is a little too far to take the stairs up to the lido deck. It can be a bit noisy in the evening as you are right below Spiegel Tent. Also I would ask that NCL bring back drawers as it is was hard to keep two weeks of clothes in these strange triangle shaped cubby holes.
Aside from that we slept on the bed well and were fine with the TV to do what we wanted.
Take a taxi to Orient Beach it is much cheaper than the ship. For 2 people it is $20 one way.
We did our own thing with shopping and walking around Central park before getting on the ship.
We had been to San Juan quite a few times. We just walked around and did some shopping.
