I like to travel solo. Norwegian is the only cruise line that makes an effort to accommodate solo travelers. The Escape had studio rooms (85 on this ship), a studio lounge, solo meet & greets every night (being in the studio was not a requirement to attend the solo events), group dinners and planned activities. I didn't eat too often in the garden cafe buffet, but the specialty dinners were amazing. The employees are wonderful and accommodating no matter where you were. There was a mechanical glitch in going to the last port. It was sad that it had to be skipped, but it sure didn't ruin the cruise for me. For being such a big ship, I definitely didn't notice it any more crowded than on a smaller ship. Lots of night life options which was perfect. Lots of places to relax in the shade or in the sun, without a huge crowd. Several of the bars gave the "cheers" feel to it. The employees took an effort to remember your name, which is crazy! I know I'd fail miserably at that! I highly recommend this cruise. I also signed up for the Thermal Spa. What a treat. And also, never felt crowded.

The studio cabins, lounge & meet & greets have been wonderful for meeting new people and making life time friends!

I have traveled several times with Norwegian Cruise Lines and can't think of anything negative with the experiences. I have 5 more planned for 2017!

Cabin Review

Studio Stateroom

Cabin T1

Efficient. It's not huge. The shower stall is small, but it works! It's not where I spend most of my time. The studio is just a few steps away with snacks, juice, water and a coffee machine available. Lots of tables and chairs for discussion groups. You need a key to get in the studio area, which gives a secure feeling. Best of all, I love that I don't have to pay for two people.

Port Reviews

Tortola

a few shops close to the ship, though pretty spendy.

St. Thomas

I just got off the ship and wandered around close to the dock area. There were plenty of shops in St Thomas. took the tram to the top of the hill for some breathtaking views. The solo group had a scavenger hunt the made checking out the city lots of fun.
