Star Princess is a rust bucket in EXTREME need of being revamped. Rust was visible everywhere. Mold was around the tub in our stateroom bath. Furniture and carpets were very worn. Wi-Fi was horrible; not only did it not work at all in our stateroom, the signal had to be sought throughout the ship. Some whirlpools did not work (a deck attendant informed us that US law prohibited bubbles due to the spread of infections). Lumpy beds need replacement (one couple's mattress had towels stuffed underneath to smooth the surface). Air conditioning failed twice in our stateroom. After I booked the cruise, Princess sent me an offer to have a surprise gift waiting in our stateroom. I chose and purchased a teddy bear in a captain’s uniform for my wife. A note was left in our stateroom to pick up our teddy bear in the gift shop. What a surprise! All that said, Princess crews are the most attentive & friendly on any of the cruises we've taken. The Hawaiian ports we visited and the excursions we chose were awesome. Unfortunately, we spent less than a day at each of the four ports. The other eleven days we were at sea. The Captain was amazing. Very friendly, informative and highly visible. However, nothing on the positive side of this cruise could have made up for the condition of the ship. We’re not sure if we would again sail with Princess and, if we do choose to, we will investigate the ship.
