We went on this cruise for two milestones in my life. 60th birthday and retirement. We enjoyed most of this cruise but were suprised for the large amount of small children. For the most part, this would not have bothered me. But.....Royal staff did not enforce the adult only areas (solarium ) this area has been one of my favorite areas in the past. On this cruise, it was far from relaxing except in the very early morning. There are more than enough areas for the kids so the parents need to be told to go to these areas. Staff seemed to want to help but didn't seem to know what to do. I didn't see any signage that stated Adults only. Please put up signs.....this helps the staff to enforce this area.
We did have a marvelous stateroom attendant. The wait staff was exceptional as was the majority of staff. We did have an issue with a North Star employee who had such a thick accent that made understanding difficult. She seemed to feel that raising her voice louder would make me understand her better. There were 3 other people waiting but she would not let us on without a reservation. Another cruiser tried to help but the North Star went up with just 8 people on it.
I do love Royal and will continue to sail with them. Maybe this input may help with future cruises..... Oh and it was freezing out and we were told to leave the ship at 7:30. Our ride was not there until 10:00. We had to sit in a unheated tented room with many other freezing cruisers who were also upset by this. Maybe we could have stayed on the ship longer? I will have to find out if disembarking times could be changed to a later time for future cruises.
Always love the balcony rooms. The weather didn't cooperate but still was able to use it. I like the new design of the shower. More room to move.
EMBARKING WAS FAST
