Regarding Princess ships, always a good experience. We keep coming back because of the food, entertainment and quality service. Very important for us is the CLASSIC cruise ship ambience. By that we mean no carnival rides and gimmicky rock walls, zip lines etc. Just a focus on classic cruise fun with pools, competitions, music, dancing etc. An important feature is also the classic PROMENADE DECK. You know, the one that used to be on all cruise ships with hundreds of outward facing lounge chairs with great ocean views and a way to walk entirely around the ship. Including a huge view to the rear of the ship. Love, love, love this on Princess ships. You feel connected to the ocean.
We've tried the Royal Caribbean mega ships and were disappointed. Found ourselves basically cut off from the ocean. Clearly, emphasis at RC is to keep you focused inward towards the shops and restaurants where you'll spend more money. They accomplish this by not having a promenade deck and blocking the rear view with huge stages and generally keeping you occupied with a carnival / mall at sea experience. Why take a cruise if you can’t find the ocean? If you want that, great, have at it but we prefer to have a classic cruise experience without the Mall at Sea atmosphere.

City TourWow, what an enjoyable experience. Pleasant bus ride with excellent and passionate commentary by tour guide. We learned so much about Mazatlan and were surprised at the diversity, hidden architectural treasures and daily life. An added surprise was the stop at a seafood market to see the GIANT prawns/shrimp. When I say 10 inches I'm not kidding.View All 49 City Tour Reviews
