We live in upstate NY, so embarking in Brooklyn, NY was fantastic. They made us VIP so we got on the boat in a breeze. The Regal Princess is a very nice ship, but I think most cruise ships are nice. We wanted a longer cruise that you didn't hop on, and hop off the boat every day to explore an island. This cruise seemed to fit that bill. We stayed on the ship a lot longer, and loved it.
We didn't do any specialty dining, but spent a lot of time in the casino, which they treated us pretty well. All the food was great on the boat. No complaints. All the servers and room stewards are amazing people. They can't do enough for you. Next time I will buy the coffee card, which was $32, because I found myself buying cappuccino a lot, their specialty coffee is delish.
Our room, which was a balcony, was really nice. We are planning on the same cruise next year, definitely. Only negative was Antigua, not a pretty place, kind of seedy. Very very poor. You really need to do an excursion if you go there. I wouldn't do anything on your own there.
Nicer than an inside room, but still a little small, but cozy.
Not a NYC person! Too busy for me.
We went to the beach directly across from the cruise ship. You had to take the ferry ride over, its just another money making scheme these islands seem to have perfected. Beach was OK.
