Princess is a top notch cruise line, a super alternative to Norwegian Cruise Line, which has been having operational problems. The decor on the Princess is classic and the people all seem to be quite friendly and helpful.
The back-to-back cruises ran smoothly, a significant problem to us when cruising with Norwegian, which has major computer problems for such travel. The Princess on-ship immigration process between cruises was welcome, quick and easy. The government and Princess have established an excellent "in transit" process for back-to-back cruisers.
The food overall in the dining rooms was excellent, to the point where we would actually look forward to a few of the nights because of the menus. Also the attention provided by the wait service, including their anticipation of our preferences even before we sat down at the dining table, was spot on.
Very nice cabin with a separate bedroom. The beds were quite comfortable. Amenities were what we expected. However, the sitting area furniture (stuffed chair and sofa) was not comfortable. And the balcony was not very deep and made lounging on the balcony difficult.
Excellent embarkation process at the port.
Lovely port.
Walked around the port. Had a great lunch at Poncho's Backyard....excellent margarettas. Nice shops.
We really enjoyed the port. Considering that it is a "resort" area and a new cruise port, we were surprised at the organization of the port to make us cruisers feel welcome.
Since we have cruised in the Caribbean quite a bit, we take very few excursions. We do walk off the ship and explore the areas, but on our own. Our definition of "excursion" for this review is a paid tour......not a self-guided walkabout.
That said, this port was great and had everything from typical tourist stores to Burger King and Hooters. The shopkeepers were exremely helpful in this port......to the point of helping me find what I was looking for, even if it meant sending me to a competitor's store.
Very nice port in a town setting. Enjoyed the KING casino near the port.
