This is our first cruise on Celebrity Millenium having sailed previously mainly on Royal Carribean International (RCI)
My husband and I have not been to Bali, Phuket and Penang for many years and this was a cruise to reacquaint ourselves with these interesting destinations.
Our embarkation was rather quick since we were Platinum members from RCI and within 30 minutes we were on the ship. We had lunch at the Metropolitan Main Dining Room while waiting for our cabin to be ready.
Lovely cabin, with lots of cupboard space, very functional and quiet.
Singapore is a modern city with lots of great food and shopping. We saw Christmas lights in Orchard Road and it was like a Fairyland. It was easy to get around with the MRT. We went to several local malls - Bedok Mall, Westgate Mall, Jem in Jurong, Takashimaya in Orchard Road, Toa Payoh. We also sampled local food and loved the choices in the Food Courts such as Food Republic and Kopi Tiam.
We hired Wismu, a Balinese Driver who had a clean airconditioned car. We went to Sukarwati (which was a local market), Denpasar and Kuta Beach. It was an interesting experience.
We took the free local bus to Komtar as our time in Penang was very short due to the long queue getting off the ship as the port officials only opened one gangway for 2000 passengers.
