I chose this cruise for its itinerary and because they're giving the balcony cabins at a big discounted rate.

The cruise is more for those interested in making a difference to the communities of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. There are many excursions free of cost to the traveler to chose from and there are shore excursions available for a price.

The Adonia is a small ship thats showing its wear, but extremely clean with a wonderful crew. The crew is mainly Indian and speak excellent English. They will bent over backwards to please you, however if you are on a special dietary diet you need to select a different ship. They have a limited variety of food selections, and most food is very bland. Forget dessert if you enjoy the sweets. There is very little entertainment on board as far as shows.
