The ship is very nicely lay out. Beautiful ship, making use of technology is a plus for Vista using the Hub App that's free . Embarkation however was not very organized. we arrived from airport around 1:00 pm taxi fare was $27. There was a line to the check in terminal some 50 yards or more we fell in behind them all and it was pretty hot out.. Carnival staff brought water out to those in line which was good customer service. The line was hardly moving. Our boarding passes indicated a time of 1:00 PM to board it was 1:30 upon out arrival, a carnival representative walked along the line calling for those with 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM times to follow her. We jump out of line with a huge crowd of people and she walked us all to the front to be put into a another line going directly into check in. We move through the system of lines inside to be directed to these folks who scanned your passports. That information and picture is what is used for the set sail cards. That card is not issued to you directly on Vista but placed in your mailbox outside your cabin now sealed in an envelope. If you have not setup your account with a credit card online to use on the ship, there’s another additional line you must go to after Customs. Those that do not have a passport to be read by the scanner have to go to a line to get a picture taken upstairs in the check-in terminal building, I am not 100 percent that they can scan your drivers licenses to use it like passports though. Anyway, after our pass port scan we went through Customs. Oh, they give you a number on paper to use for boarding. After Customs, its upstairs to wait until your number is called to board the Vista which we waited abut an hour for. We went directly to the cabin after boarding to grab the set sail cards in the mailbox. Personally, I don’t like the idea to have my card in a mailbox waiting for me when some kids playing could manage to remove the cards than it would be a nightmare going through the ship services getting another made. Does these people not think about these things.

Our bags did not arrive till 6pm. Yes 6 pm! Vista gets bad marks for this. (Tip) Roll your carry on with you for basics like change a of clothes and personal items.

The vice CEO was on board for this cruise from carnival we ran into him a few times also there was a contingent of 900 travel agents also for a conference called Believe. Those folks had a private party about each night on back of the boat that was closed off to the general public for about 2 hours. That did not interfere with the cruise.

Cabin Review

Cove Balcony

Cabin 7C

Our cove balcony cabin 2338 no real complaints. There are built in USB charging ports beside the electrical outlets. The inside safe make sure to follow the directions printed. They have and extra step from the old ones that you need to do to shut and lock it. I ended up having to call maintenance to open ours due to errors popping up on it. This is because you have to clear the old code each time you shut the door to lock. One of the electrical outs trip when the wife plugged in the curling iron also it trip the TV. We called maintenance to reset the breaker outside the cabin door. Deck two balconies can get a lot of salt on railings and floor. Our first time at this level. Simply amazed me about the salt accumulation. Just the railings and floor near railings had the salt on them.

Water in shower was slow draining. We slept pretty good each night, we brought a small fan to make some noises, the cabin had a outstanding AC! A plus to the AC! it can get pretty cold at the low setting. Each night bed had a towel animal. Very good beds.

Grand Turk

No excursion here. Went to the beach than the pool at Margaretville. The beach is beautiful well-manicured the chairs we used were free of charge. The pool area also has a wave rider for a charge.
