We booked the Millennium as a party of 12 celebrating a 70th birthday. Given the high premium we paid, we were expecting 2 weeks of good food and great entertainment. What we actually received was 14 days of disappointment where the highlight of the day was the inevitable stopover at Guest Relations.
Embarkation: Smooth. The staff at the port in Singapore were excellent in processing passengers onto the ship. One of my party is wheelchair bound and was escorted through the full boarding process.
First impressions: The Millennium just doesn't have the "wow factor" that you associate with modern day cruising. It's a small-ish vessel with a less than impressive, poorly maintained exterior. Judging by the looks of the other passengers, we weren't the only ones disappointed
By far the worst accommodation I have had the misfortune to stay in.
Filthy, torn bedding,
Wardrobes hanging off their fittings,
Dirty & mouldy bathroom and floors,
Dust everywhere,
Inconsistent air conditioning,
The balcony door so rusty, you would require a tetanus shot after opening,
Repeatedly having to wash hands after touching anything in the room. (I understand this is good practice anyway but this was extreme)
Couldn't use the phone as was so dirty you wouldn't want it anywhere near your face,
All furniture creaking WITHOUT rough seas.
The only saving grace was the bed - despite the dirty linen, it was very comfortable.
An all-round horrid room. Couldn't wait to leave it in the morning and not return until bedtime.
Continuos traffic disrupted the flow of the tour. Spent an unnecessary hour in the shopping mall.
