Negatives first: Cruisers average age was 60+, ladders in and out of pools were vertical and difficult for people with any type mobility issues. Can be resolved with a minor design change. Pool depths - both main pools are about 5'8" deep. You cannot walk or lounge in them without hanging on. One pool should be made less deep at the first refit, same with the ladders. The remotes for the tv's were very sensitive to the touch, a more robust remote that we are accustomed to would resolve a lot of complaints. "The Restaurant " opens for breakfast at 8AM but we enter port between 7 and 8. It would be nice to open a little earlier so we can have a sit down meal before the day begins. Something needs to be in the key card slot for the USB chargers to work, this was a minor inconvenience since I would just put my AARP card in it.

Positives - Staff and crew were first rate. The ship was spotless, the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The internet was quite speedy for the middle of the ocean. The shows were very good and well suited to the customers. We were in 5023 a PV cabin and it was very nice. The whole ship had a very serene atmosphere. There was no hard sell anywhere. The decor was great. The thermal spa was a bonus. Relaxing and stress free. The embarkation and debarkation processes were the best we have experienced. Airport transfers were first rate, crew and airport staff were fast and courteous. It was nice to wake up to a new port daily. This cruise was intended to be a restful experience, and it was. I would definitely consider the Viking Star in the future The whole experience with Viking Ocean and Viking Air was 100% positive.

Cabin Review

Cabin PV

Beautiful, well maintained. Other than the tv remote no issues with the cabin. Quite, staff was attentive and well trained. In the Caribbean the ice buckets could be a little bigger, ice melts fast in this part of the world. It would be nice if the USB charges stayed powered when your key card is not in the slot. Night lights under the mirror where a little brighter than I needed, we just layed a pillow in front of it to block some of the light.

Locals attitude was not helpful. Cab driver overcharged.
