We loved the whole feel of this ship. We were on Deck 14 in a Balcony (a very generous upgrade from Princess). Straight through the 2 pool areas to the Horizon Court but the first pool area was just beautiful - completely under cover and had a Balinese feel to it with huts, a bar and Ice Cream Parlour. 2 hot tubs which we used up to 3 times a day being so close to our cabin.

The food in the Dining Rooms was the usual high standard. Traditional Dining was always the best option - there were long queues for Anytime Dining. The Horizon Court was always good for breakfast with a changing variety of food. The menu was geared for the US passengers with a huge variety of sweet food at breakfast - something Australians don't go for. Lunch and dinner didn't have the themes we are accustomed to. On Australian based Princess cruises there are Indian, Thai, and other Asian themes, something we are used to in our country. Again the food was geared to the American passengers.

Disappointed to see dogs on board this ship. I wonder where this will end when more dogs start appearing in the dining rooms and restaurants. Someday someone may be bitten by these dogs trained for sole owner use with the owners asking passengers to decline from speaking to the dog. The other lady with her huge dog didn't appear to need it's assistance. With asthma, I couldn't even contemplate the thought of being in a cabin previously inhabited by a dog sleeping on the couch. Dog hair and possibly fleas would greatly affect my health. Now this precedent had been set I will expect more and more dogs and they don't always get on so expect conflict between them. It would make me reconsider any cruise line which offers this.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BD

Our cabin was newly added so the bathroom was very modern and nice (shower a bit small). The cabin had plenty of room and plenty of drawers and shelves.

Port Reviews

Huatulco

Very nice little town. Beware if taking a private excursion. They take you to silver and weaving shops and if you don't buy anything they rapidly cut your tour short and transport you back to the ship.

Puerto Quetzal (Antigua)

Very nice port. Many, many shops on the dock. If I went there again I would stay in and around the shops and sit in the many beer gardens. Went on an excursion from the hut and it was very good, went to Antigua and a Jade shop, had a lovely lunch.

Manzanillo

Loved this place - the shopping was fabulous and we stay around the town, had a drink and just enjoyed shopping and the atmosphere.

Los Angeles

We didn't take a tour of Los Angeles. The ships de-bark tour was of Long Beach. We walked around and had a coffee, used free Wifi and really just killed a bit of time. Long Beach was nice but nit a lot of shopping and no coffee shops where we were dropped at the Aquarium - you had to pay for entrance to the aquarium to be able to use the cafe.
