We chose the Island Princess because we wanted to see the new locks at the Panama Canal...we enjoyed the shows, especially Will Martin! The ship was very nice, except for the problems associated with anytime dining! Normally with anytime, you are able to eat at any specific time, without waiting in long lines. The first three nights of our cruise, we had to eat at the buffet in horizon because there were very long lines waiting to get in at 5:15..our preferred dining time is around 6:00. We never were able to eat in the dining room at that time. We either had to stand in a line for 5:15 seating, or come back and stand in another line at 7:00! This was really unacceptable! We heard the reason was because when the ship was remodeled, they added 200 cabins to the back of the ship, but didn't allow for the fact that there were only 2 dining rooms..so, that is our main complaint...on this ship it is better to reserve the select seating..we thought the food was excellent, both in dining room and the buffet. The room service for breakfast was very limited. There was always a deck chair available to sit by the pool..we enjoyed the itinerary, but we will probably not go on the Island Princess again..
