After three Viking River Cruises we were intrigued by the concept of taking the RIver Cruise idea to the Ocean Cruises and seeing if it was possible to make it work; IT WORKS!

I was not sure that any Ocean Liner could pull off drinks with lunch and dinner plus includes tours just like they do on the rivers, BUT Viking seems to have done a good job of it so far.

With only 930 people checking on the embarkation process seemed smooth and seamless . We arrived at 11:30 from our hotel since we chose to do a 2 day extension prior to sailing from San Juan. Our Hotel was the Caribe Hilton, but that is another review (See Tripadvisor). When we arrived our documents were ready and we were allowed to go aboard within 15 minutes of arrival. Our stateroom was ready when we got aboard.

Cabin Review

Cabin PENTHOUSE JUNIOR SUITE

The PENTHOUSE JUNIOR SUITE did not disappoint in the least. The Queen bed really felt much larger (how do you make twins into a queen?). the separate sitting area, with loveseat and two chairs were nice BUT the loveseat was hard to get out of because it was LOW and soft, at least the chairs had arms that could be used to assist in rising. Included in the cabin: Binoculars, robes, slippers, ONE umbrella, coffee/tea maker with cups and accessories, hair dryer and lots of outlets - both 110 and 220. There are also two (2) usb outlets on each side of the bed for charging cellphones, and tablets - bring your own cables, but these are high speed and fast. Table and 2 chair on the veranda - NO lounge chairs. There are NO clocks or alarm clocks in the stateroom.
