I have sailed on 3 other Carnival cruises in the past but this time I was traveling with my adult children and my husband. Overall the ship is very clean and well maintained, but be prepared to be herded on. Several years ago, Carnival decided to add a water park to the ship as well as approximately 150 more rooms. The water park probably looked liked a great idea on paper but the reality is that is not used very often, so the 1 and only main pool is super full. We spent most of our time on the boat just trying to find a chair to seat in. The buffet area was the same, 20-30 minutes of your time is spent just trying to locate a table. The food at the buffet was always lukewarm and not a lot of choices, by the time you got back to your table the food would be cold. In addition, the buffet area was very small in comparison to the crowds, approximately 2700 passengers. My family spent a lot of time in lines for pizza, sandwiches, drinks, going up or down stairs, using the elevator or just trying to visit the ports of call. While the employees did their very best to manage the crowds they looked lost and overwhelmed and down right tired. Our cabins were very nice and were great full we had paid for the balcony rooms. The ship had lots of onboard activities but they were usually crowded. I will continue to cruise with Carnival but just not on this ship, just too full.
Room was very nice, particulary enjoyed the over sized balcony
Port is currently under renovation. Shopping is ok but sales people are super pushy
Port is in need of a face lift. Shopping is good
We visited Chankannab National Park. Taxi cab ride was $16 for 5 people and the park has great beaches and snorkeling. Visit the Chaknnab website for discount coupons for reduced admission. This is one of nicest places to visit for the day.
We spent the day on the beach right at the port. Beaches are well maintained and the snorkeling is good. Bring your own snorkleing gear.
Getting on cruise was super easy and fast. Parking is really pricey.
